As you may have heard already, this Friday 23 May will be our last day at HH in Sutton before the place gets 'mothballed' by the Trust in connection with our 'temporary closure'.

 

This will be a very difficult day for us all, and we thought that there might be a fair number of ex-ressies and ex-staff who might like to join us on Friday morning.

On Friday the 8th of February a group of current/ex-residents and staff members Dianna Menzies and Sallie Williams met with Philippa Stroud, the Conservative Parliamentarian Sutton and Cheam.  

The idea of the meeting was to give Philippa as much information as possible about The Henderson, what it does, who and how it treats people with Personality Disorders. Typical backgrounds were discussed and the case for The Henderson was made clear

			<description>Instead of tackling damaging issues within the NHS, the government have forced local trusts to step up to the plate and take finical responsibly for services that have national catchments, such as the Henderson Hospital. They in turn are forced to make decision based on what’s best for local people. I would imagine PCT’s would have a hell of a job explaining to local people why national projects should be funded at the cost of local services.
